Study Abroad: Scandinavia Experience

This interdisciplinary program in Finland and Sweden will examine the housing industry from multiple perspectives that address regional sustainability. You will learn how climate, natural ecosystems, clean energy production, forest management, and innovations in the manufacture of wood products influence the design of furnishing, housing and residential neighborhoods.

Instruction will be provided by an interdisciplinary faculty team from the Oregon State University Renewable Materials Program and the University of Oregon School of Architecture and Allied Arts who will introduce students to Scandinavian planners, architects, engineers, product designers and wood scientists.

NOTE: *The non-refundable program fee deposit ($500) is due on February 28. If the student is not accepted into the program, then the deposit check will be returned or refunded. The balance of the program fee must be paid and/or financial aid agreement completed by May 1st or you will be unregistered from the course. After May 1st, refunds for cancellations or withdrawals will be as follows: Program Fee (100% non-refundable), Summer 2013 Tuition/Fees will be refunded according to standard OSU refunding policies based on the date the course is dropped or withdrawn.
