Study Abroad: Scandinavia Experience

Next offered in August/September of 2013

Application Deadline February 15, 2013
This interdisciplinary program in Finland and Sweden will examine the housing industry from multiple perspectives that address regional sustainability. You will learn how climate, natural ecosystems, clean energy production, forest management, and innovations in the manufacture of wood products influence the design of furnishing, housing and residential neighborhoods.

Instruction will be provided by an interdisciplinary faculty team from the Oregon State University Renewable Materials Program and the University of Oregon School of Architecture and Allied Arts who will introduce students to Scandinavian planners, architects, engineers, product designers and wood scientists.
